Mother’s Day Gift Ideas For Aunts

Proud Aunts and Aunties are constantly telling stories about their nieces and nephews. If the conversation of kids comes up, they’ll proudly show off pictures to friends and sometimes even strangers.  And when people mistakenly think that these precious people are their own children, proud Aunts confidently reply, “No, I’m their Aunt.”

Honor your Aunt this Mother’s Day, like she does for you without even batting an eye. Get her something special that speaks to how much you love her.

Whether it be your Aunt by relation or by choice, it’s a title she holds dearly.  One that she has earned and now cherishes just as much as the children who have made her one.

I did some digging around to find some funfordable (totally made that word up) items for Aunts of all types.

1.) Gift for Aunts: Mugs.

Is this Aunt a coffee or tea lover?  Then she’ll love getting a new mug to show off that she’s one of the best ones out there.  Personally, I love a good coffee mug.  Most coffee and tea lovers have a favorite they’ll turn to first once all the dishes are cleaned.  I betcha if she gets one of these, it’ll surely be the first pick out of the dishwasher.

But even if your Aunt doesn’t drink coffee or tea, coffee mugs can come in handy to hold makeup brushes or pens and pencils.  They can also be used for eating soup from because then you can sip the broth without burning your fingers!

2.) Gift for Aunts: Popsocket

Is this Auntie trendy and practical?  If she is, she might enjoy an Auntie Popsocket. 

It’s one of those things that you don’t know you want it until you have it, and then you can’t live without it. 

My niece, Lola swears by hers.   I asked her why she loves this so much and she then gave me a demo.  They provide a better grip on your phone so you’re less likely to drop it while you’re holding it. Also, they make taking a selfie a much easier process because you don’t have to stretch your hands around the entire phone. 

And lastly, they can serve as a convenient stand for your phone when you’re watching a video or FaceTiming.

3.) Gifts for Aunts: Shirts

Some Aunts love fashion.  Is the Aunt you’re shopping for one of them?  Why not add a little Auntie gear into her wardrobe? 

Clothing and how we dress says a lot about us.  It’s an expression of how you want the world to see you.  If your Aunt LOVES being an Aunt, she’ll most likely want to spread the word as much as possible.  She’s proud to be an Aunt and now she’ll have the t-shirt to prove it.

These t-shirts can be paired with any leggings or jeans to complete that “I’m the Best Aunt Ever” look she’s been rocking for years.

4.) Gifts for Aunts: Bracelets

What woman doesn’t love a piece of jewelry?  These decorative, but elegant pieces will surely make for one happy Auntie. 

Not only are they stylish, but there’s an air of sentimentality and sweetness to them too.  It’s a win-win situation. 

They’re not too dressy that she’ll need to have a special occasion to go to in order to wear them. These are everyday wear items.  And why wouldn’t she wear any of these every day?  After all, she’s an Aunt EVERYDAY of her life 🙂 

I felt that a bracelet was a good choice for Aunt bling.  Bracelets are a perfect mix of delicate and bold.  Sounds a lot like many of the Aunts I know.

5.) Gifts for Aunts: Picture Frames 

There’s no such things as too many pictures.  They’re not a thing of the past, and sometimes they’re all we have to remember it.  Pictures are memories and should be treasured. 

If you’re looking to make a birth announcement to this Auntie, you could put a picture of the sonogram inside one of these frames and give it to her.  How cute is that?!

One year for Christmas I asked for a framed picture of family members.  To my surprise, my sister went out and bought ornament picture frames and put pictures of my family in each of them.  It’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten.

Who needs another keychain?  Your Aunt!  That’s who! 

Keychains aren’t just for your keys.  They can be put on your luggage as a part of a way to identify yours from the other 500 black midsize Travelpro bags in the airport or attach it to any bag with a broken zipper. 

I also like to have a keychain handy for spare keys.  So why not get one for your Auntie?  It would be completely appropriate, especially if she has a key to your house.  She’ll never forget which one it is.

Some women love wall hangings and throw pillows to add a splash of character to their home decor. 

If the Auntie you’re buying for is one of those, then she may appreciate these decorative additions.
