Overview

I decided to take the plunge and purchase the course Launch Your Blog Biz (formerly Build and Launch Your Blog) with Alex and Lauren from Create and Go. I have to say that I am quite happy with what I learned from them. From start to finish, I followed what they had to say and in the end, I wound up with a functioning and aesthetically pleasing blog (update: and now it brings in money too).

Before I started their course I had already built a blog, but I wasn’t happy with the design and structure. I watched countless YouTube videos on how to piece together a blog from scratch. If you’re at that stage, then I get it. I was right there with you. However, in the end, my blog was difficult to navigate, ugly, and I wasn’t proud of it.

I was actually ashamed for people to visit. I felt like I invited company over but didn’t put away a single piece of laundry and had a sink filled with dirty dishes. It was a place to go, but it wasn’t welcoming once you got there. I need help with it all, and thankfully I found the Launch Your Blog Biz course.

Create and Go Backstory

Before I go into the specifics of what I was struggling with and how Alex and Lauren were able to help me with my dilemmas, let me first share their story. Like many successful people, their triumphs as bloggers spawned from failure. You can read their whole story here, but I’ll give you a brief overview of why they started Create and Go.

Alex and Lauren were both young professionals trying to make it in corporate America but found themselves to be unhappy, to say the least. Alex was a personal trainer and Lauren was a CPA. Fueled by their desire to lives they were actually happy with, they started a blog and failed. This then led to their launch of Avocadu, where they write and teach about health and fitness. Their hard work eventually paid off and they realized that they could then teach their successful techniques to others and make a business out of it. That’s why they created the Launch Your Blog Biz course.

My Story

How I started

So what led me to finally purchasing this course from Alex and Lauren? Like I previously mentioned, I had already started my blog, The Enchanted Aunt back in August 2017. I knew that I had found what I was effortlessly good at – being an Aunt.

I also knew about the high priced costs of hiring a web developer to build my first website. My site was beautiful, but it’s also custom-coded. So, I couldn’t touch it without help. I have since taken it down because of all the maintenance that I couldn’t do on my own.

My niche was a no-brainer, but the other parts, like building a site, finding topics to blog about, and monetizing were all foreign territory. In fact, I had written my first 5 blog posts, “promoted them” to friends and family, and quickly found that no one cared.

I got visits to my site, but there were days, weeks, months where I hadn’t gotten any traffic. I knew nothing about blogging and endless google searches weren’t giving me much help either. It wasn’t until I started doing some research on how to get traffic to my blog that I stumbled upon Alex and Lauren’s YouTube channel. This was a game-changer for me.

Lots of free advice offers mostly fluff around a subject and hones in on the “why” you need to do something. The “how” is always the paid portion. In order for anyone to be able to make a purchase, they first must trust the person who they’re purchasing from. Alex and Lauren gained my trust because I could see the results before I even purchased anything. I decided to take my blog seriously, open up my wallet, and build my site with their course Launch Your Blog Biz.

Pros: Here are some of the highlights.

Alex and Lauren cover the very basics like hosting, domain, and blog niches to the very specifics, like creating great content, how to come up with ideas, how to be productive, and build your e-mail list. They cover it all in this comprehensive, soup to nuts, blogging course Launch Your Blog Biz.

The Launch Your Blog Biz course is 100% comprehensive.

One of my biggest frustrations as a newbie blogger was the amount of information that you need to know. I read one helpful article, which led me to more information, which led to another article, and so on. It was exhausting. Knowing the mindset of a new blogger, Alex and Lauren have put together a completely thorough course. It tackles every aspect of blogging. For example, they walk you through everything from buying a domain name to, to list building, and finally monetization. Through their teachings, I was able to see huge errors I was making as a new blogger.

The Launch Your Blog Biz course has been updated since they first launched the course.

One of the things that you have to be careful about when buying an online course is outdated information. With technology continuously changing, a lot of tech advice and information becomes obsolete in a matter of months. So if a course is prerecorded and they don’t regularly make updates, you’re SOL. If the course is older than 6 months and wasn’t updated, they’re likely not responding to inquiries or follow up questions.

Alex and Lauren make updates to all of their courses on an as-needed basis. Since I’ve been with them, I’ve seen several updates so that we stay up to date to with last changes to WordPress, Pinterest, and more. They even put in a new module walking you through how to use Divi, a popular WordPress theme that bloggers (including myself) use.

The Launch Your Blog Biz course has video and text in nearly every module.

I don’t know about you, but it’s very difficult for me to read on any screen for an extended period of time. My eyes get watery, they begin to shut, and before I know it, I’m napping at 2 PM. The course is broken down into topics and most have a visual aid/video within them. This made it much easier to implement the steps instead of having to create a visual in my head. The fact that it’s broken down into topics also helped me skip around – especially when I got back for a refresher on a topic.

The Launch Your Blog Biz course walks you through the steps to the steps to monetization

Most people want to start with the hopes of it making them money. Alex and Lauren combined both their introductory courses on building a blog and making money from it into one complete course. You’ll learn the importance of building and maintaining a list as well as walk you through how to create emails to sell to your list.

Bonus materials.

Alex and Lauren give you a soft introduction to their other courses.

They also teach:

Generating traffic with Pinterest Traffic Avalanche

How to make a lot of money with Six-Figure Blogger.

I opted for the Pro Blogger Package from them to bundle and save a bit.

Private Facebook Group for Paid Members

Each of the Create and Go Products come with a private FaceBook for support on all of their products. You have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with other bloggers should you need some support.

Additionally, before they are able to make changes inside the course, they will go live to discuss any major changes and what you can do about them. It takes a while to update course material, but they don’t want you to wait too long, so they’ll give you a heads up and the best practices approach so you can get started quicker.

Cons: Nothing is perfect, but I’m nitpicking

Not a complaint, but a heads up – It’s course is long.

That’s kinda a good thing, right? It truly is comprehensive. I just want readers to know before purchasing the Launch Your Blog Biz course, it’s not something that you can get through in a day. It’s long, thorough, and it takes time. How much time is somewhat up to you. Most of the modules are between 10 and 20 minutes.

Altogether, I think it took me about a month to complete it because of stopping and starting. If you can dedicate more time to complete this course, you could probably complete it all within a week or two – I’m including working on weekends in my estimate.

No Refunds after 60 Days

This is an instant access course, so I would recommend getting started when you know you have the time to put in. Don’t buy this course and putting it on the shelf for a month. Create and Go will not issue refunds after 60 days. Know that you have the time to put in before purchasing. Read more about their refund policy on their site.

No Public Coupons

I know that there are a lot of people out there who LOVE to coupon and search high and low for one, but as far as I know, there aren’t any for this course.

So is it worth it?

My advice to anyone looking to start a blog or remodel your existing one (like what I did) – GET IT. Alex and Lauren aren’t magicians, but they are experts in this field. They know exactly what it takes to become a successful blogger and they have given away their tips, tricks, and tactics so that you can become one too.

They offer sound advice to motivate you, teach you the how-to’s, and paint a clear picture of what it really means to become a real blogger. Without this course and the advice from Alex and Lauren, my blog would be collecting cyber dust and it never would have made a penny. Now I get nearly 10,000 views and counting per month and I’m making money from it!

I wholeheartedly recommend buying this course to start your new career as a full time or part-time blogger with Create and Go.
